Hyundai Hope on Wheels at Victory Hyundai Lee’s Summit

Most Hyundai owners have no idea that their vehicle helped fund childhood cancer research, and we think that is worth changing. Hyundai Hope on Wheels has been doing that work since 1998, backed by Hyundai and its dealers across the country. If you have been in our showroom on NW Ward Rd and noticed the colored handprints, this is the story behind them.

What the Program Has Done

Hyundai Hope on Wheels funds pediatric cancer research grants at children’s hospitals nationwide, and it has kept at it for 28 years. More than $300 million has gone toward research and treatment in that time, and those efforts have helped save over 40,000 kids. A child in this country is diagnosed with cancer every 36 minutes, which is a large part of why the funding keeps growing year over year. The handprint logo carries the mission too, with the wing standing for hope, the heart for love, and the leaf for recovery and the program’s survivorship work.

How a Purchase Contributes

Hyundai and its dealer network donate for every new vehicle sold, so a purchase made here in Lee’s Summit ends up reaching a hospital somewhere. Drivers who come to us from Raymore, Belton, and Grain Valley add to that same total. Our new Hyundai inventory covers the full current lineup, from the Venue up through the three row Palisade, and the electrified side has grown quickly with the IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6, and IONIQ 9. The Tucson Hybrid draws the most questions from area shoppers.

Sorting Out the Details Early

Selection and trade-in value tend to be the two things people want settled before anything else, and we would rather handle both up front than let either one stall a visit. Our trade-in valuation tool gives you a number before you drive over, and financing is available to all of our customers through the finance center. If a new vehicle is not the right move this year, the full pre-owned inventory includes certified options through Hyundai Certified Used Vehicles and Hyundai Select Used Vehicles.

After You Drive Home

Ownership does not end at delivery, and our service center takes care of maintenance and repairs for Hyundai drivers throughout the Lee’s Summit area. Service and parts are both open 7AM to 6PM, and the free brake inspection covers pads, rotors, calipers, brake fluid level, and a road test. Victory Hyundai Lee’s Summit is a brand new store built from the ground up, and Hope on Wheels is one of the things that carried over into it from the wider Hyundai family. Stop in when you have a minute and we can talk through any of it.

Miles for the Warriors

Anyone who runs, rides, or walks has another way to pitch in this month. Hyundai is hosting the Miles for the Warriors Challenge on Strava, which opened September 2 and treats every logged mile as a contribution to the fight against childhood cancer. Signing up takes a minute if you already track your workouts, and the miles you were going to put in anyway end up counting toward something. A few of us at the store are in it, so ask if you want to compare numbers.
